More than four years after September 11th, the surviving staff at Windows on the World finally have their own restaurant.

Seventy-three workers at the restaurant atop the World Trade Center were killed on September 11th. Says Fekkak Mamdouh, a Windows waiter, "It was like losing 73 family members."

"Colors" opened in Manhattan, with some three dozen former Windows employees and dishes from more than 20 countries, a nod to the international staff.

Mamdouh was among the driving forces behind the new place. Colors is an upscale restaurant owned by those who work there.

Mamdouh says the management of Windows on the World wanted waiters from all over, so visitors could always hear their own languages spoken.

Windows on the World was on the 102nd floor of the north tower of the World Trade Center.
