A 30-year-old man has been charged with sneaking into the bedroom of a sleeping 2-year-old and stealing $20 from her piggy bank.

Ryan A. Mueller, of Sheboygan Falls, was charged Thursday with burglary, after DNA evidence allegedly linked him to the Aug. 10 crime in the town of Wilson.

Authorities say the girl's mother was with a 1-year-old daughter in another room when she saw a light turn on. She walked into the 2-year-old's room to allegedly find Mueller shaking the piggy bank as the girl slept.

Mueller allegedly fled before authorities arrived. He left the bank but took the money, authorities said.

State crime lab technicians matched blood found on a window blind to Mueller, who had forced his way into the home through a window screen, authorities said.

Mueller faces up to nine years, six months in prison if convicted on a charge of felony burglary.
