Also, some people oppose jail time for middle school teacher Debra Lafave (search), who recently turned down a plea deal, saying she wants to go to trial and claim she was insane when she had sex with a 14-year-old student. The 24-year-old teacher faces up to 75 years in a Florida prison for a variety of things she allegedly did with the boy. Again, we ask, is the penalty too harsh?
