Denise Mann
Writer
Denise Mann is a freelance health writer in New York City. Her articles regularly appear on WebMD, Rheumawire (jointandbone.org), Woman's World magazine, Arthritis Today magazine, and special sections of the Wall Street Journal.

Mann was awarded the 2004 journalistic Achievement Award from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for a WebMD feature article on how to tell if plastic surgery is right for you. She has also been awarded the Arthritis Foundation's Northeast Region Prize for Online Journalism. Before joining WebMD, Mann worked for the Medical Tribune News Service for three years. Her articles appeared regularly in such newspapers as the Detroit Free Press, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Dallas Morning News, and the Los Angeles Daily News. She received a graduate degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and her undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

Westport, CT; Greenwood Publishing, 2004. Kelli's interest in science and medicine stems from her experience as a pharmacy technician and the pursuance of a pharmacy degree while in college. (In the end, she opted for journalism.) She comes from a family of inspiration: her father and two brothers are scientists involved in physics and chemistry, and her mother is a medical technologist. Kelli runs her freelance business, NEWScience, Inc., from her suburban Atlanta home.

Prior to joining WebMD in 1999, Ms. Warner was news editor at CBSHealthwatch.com and MedscapeHealth.com. Before making the move to online journalism, she worked as a freelance television news producer and writer for ABC News in their Chicago and Moscow bureaus. Her articles have also been published in Time magazine, Entertainment Weekly, and several other major magazines and newspapers.

Ms. Warner received masters degrees in journalism and Russian and East European studies from the University of Michigan. She received her bachelor's degree in political science and Russian and East European Studies from the University of Illinois.
