A wanted Palestinian militant was killed and two others were arrested Tuesday by Israeli forces in the West Bank city of Nablus, Palestinian officials and the army said.

The army said its troops identified a vehicle carrying three wanted men, surrounded it and opened fire when the men attempted to escape.

Rami Anab, 24, of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, was killed by the fire, the group said.

The army said two others were injured, evacuated to an Israeli hospital and questioned.

The army said all three were responsible for drafting homicide bombers and planning attacks against Israelis.
