LONDON – A British university is investigating a video that appears to show students with plastic bags on their heads drinking and vomiting in a sports club initiation ritual directed by a student in a Nazi-style uniform.
The video obtained by the British Broadcasting Corp. shows the students parading on a city street in daylight. The students being initiated are wearing plastic bags on their heads and are seen drinking.
University of Gloucestershire spokesman Paul Drake said Thursday that a formal investigation was under way.
The university says it does not know which sports club was involved and that the video appears to be more than six months old.
Drake says officials were shocked by the film and took the issue of bullying in initiation ceremonies seriously.
