VASSALBORO, Maine – The owner of a topless coffee shop in central Maine that burned down in an arson fire will appear before the local planning board seeking to build a replacement shop.
According to the Kennebec Journal, the owner of the Grand View Topless Coffee Shop will apply to build a new structure and might ask for operating changes when he appears before the Vassalboro Planning Board on Tuesday.
Owner Donald Crabtree last appeared before the board on June 2, when he asked about extending the hours of the shop and offering music for waitresses to dance to.
Later that night, the shop was torched in a fire that has been ruled an arason.
The shop's opening in February angered many residents in Vassalboro, a small town outside of Augusta.
