Justin Timberlake (search) obtained a restraining order against a photographer who allegedly was stalking the pop star, the singer's publicist said.

"It's about time that somebody did something about these stalkerazzis," publicist Ken Sunshine (search) said Tuesday, referring to photographers who often follow celebrities by car. "Unless somebody has the guts to carry this through legally, somebody's going to get killed through these chases."

Timberlake sought the restraining order July 7 against Artemus Earl Lister. Messages left at a number listed for Lister were not immediately returned.

The singer has also filed a lawsuit in a London court against the British tabloid News of the World, which reported the singer cheated on his girlfriend, actress Cameron Diaz (search), with British model Lucy Clarkson (search), Sunshine said.

"Justin never met the woman in question, and we are confident a lot of money will be won for a wonderful charity when we win this case," Sunshine said.

An e-mail sent to the paper's editor was not immediately answered. Representatives for the paper have said they stand by the story.
