Three children taken from this northwest Arizona city by their mother, who doesn't have legal custody, were found safe in Oregon, authorities said Saturday.

Sandra Shaffer, 34, was in custody in Oregon on a felony warrant of custodial interference, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office here.

Authorities said Shaffer and the children were found in the Roseberg area of Oregon.

Shaffer was denied custody of the children by an Oregon court last year with full custody granted to their father, authorities said.

The children's father, whose name was not immediately released, also lives in Kingman.

He told authorities that Shaffer, who is his ex-wife, took the three children — 11-year-old Marcel, 10-year-old Brittany and 9-year-old Krystal — to dinner Tuesday and did not return.

Mohave County authorities issued an Amber Alert on Friday for the children.
