GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: From Hollywood to Washington, my new friends Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon are the talk of the town. The reality TV show based on their family is breaking records, and today Ozzy received a star on Hollywood's walk of fame. But it's the possibility that Ozzy will break bread with the president as my guest at the White House correspondents dinner that's creating quite a buzz.

Well, it was the least I could do for Ozzy and his wife after they opened their doors to Fox News and went ON THE RECORD. Has Ozzy's show disrupted his work?

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

OZZY OSBOURNE, MUSICIAN: Well, I haven't actually stopped work. I'm doing some form of shows or interviews with press or flying, writing or something, for over a year now. And to be honest with you, I could do with a break right now. As I said, I didn't know — no one on MTV, none of us expected the success of The Osbournes. It's like a double whammy. Believe me, I'm not complaining.

I mean, I'm overwhelmed. I'm as happy as anyone can be.

VAN SUSTEREN: How long can it go on, the phenomenon of The Osbournes?

O. OSBOURNE: The reason why I've taken the attitude the way I have, I'm primarily Ozzy the rock 'n roller and I have been through 35 years, so if it flops next season, I'll go OK —

SHARON OSBOURNE, WIFE AND MANAGER: We're not TV people. It's like we're getting all these calls from agents and these agents are asking for meetings, right, and I'm taking the meetings because I can get a free lunch. But it's like they're saying, like we can do this for you, we can do that for you. I'm like, I'm a middle-aged mother. What do you think I want? I want to be a movie star? Me? My kids?

We didn't want it anyway. So what can you do for me?

O. OSBOURNE: It was an experiment that went out of control, you know.

S. OSBOURNE: It's like oh, your son must want to act, we can get him a lead in whatever. And I'm like, we don't want it.

VAN SUSTEREN: Even before MTV, though, there was still Ozzy Osbourne. And I guess that, you know, could Ozzy Osbourne and his family go to the movies?

O. OSBOURNE: Oh, yes. But now —

S. OSBOURNE: Ozzy would always be — fans would come up wherever he goes. But --

O. OSBOURNE: But now it's different, because I kind of know the Ozzy fans, but I don't know The Osbournes fans. I mean, every walk of life, either pro or against. The weird thing, the people that are against, still watch the show. You know, to find — another thing that occurred to me, I don't know whether I'm right or wrong, but some people, TV today is a window to the world, you know.

So when they watch you on their window to the world —

VAN SUSTEREN: Why live in Beverly Hills, then? I mean, if you're not part of the scene.

S. OSBOURNE: Because it's central.

O. OSBOURNE: You don't have to. Because you live in Beverly Hills, you don't have to hang around with celebrities.

VAN SUSTEREN: But the countryside in England is beautiful. I mean, there's beautiful countryside — the Rockies here in the United States.

O. OSBOURNE: I like what makes me happy. When I wake up in the morning and the sun is shining. That's what makes me happy. I'm able to live — I don't have to get up at 6:00 in the morning, drive through traffic, which I hate, to a job which I hate. Work for a person which I don't really think that much of, come home and watch All in the Family, go to bed, or The Osbournes or whatever.

S. OSBOURNE: No, we're blessed. We've been blessed for so many years.

O. OSBOURNE: Don't get me wrong. I mean, after being in the music industry for 10 years, they said where do you think you'll be in 10 years, and I said I don't know, ask me in 10 years. The same question arising again. 30, 35 years later, I'm on my 36th year and Sharon comes on one day and goes, several years ago. You know what, I'm going to do a thing called the Ozzfest. She was explaining what it was. We did four shows. They took off. Now we got, we've got a global tour this year.

S. OSBOURNE: How bad and how blessed, to have a great singing career. Ozzy has got the biggest festival of the summer, every year, and now he's got his real world —

O. OSBOURNE: I can't believe it. I mean, it's like, talk about the Midas touch.
