Jim's win, Nicole's bucks and Trump's fickle fans in today's Foxlight.

Jim Carrey (search) will receive the American Film Institute's Star Award at the 2005 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in February. He deserves it just for the best movie of the year that almost no one saw. It's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," and it's a masterpiece.

Hey, they've given this AFI award to people like Albert Brooks (search) in the past, and he hasn't made a decent movie since "Lost in America." I love you Albert, but "Mother" and "The Muse?" You're the new Woody Allen -- they just aren't as funny anymore.

Good looks and she's got dough. Who needs alimony from Tom Cruise when you're named the richest young woman in Australia? That's Nicole Kidman (search), whose personal fortune is estimated at almost $110 million. On the other hand, how much was she worth before Tom? That corporate merger was good for her, even if she earned every dime on her own. Had you heard of her before "Days of Thunder?" By the way, rent "Dead Calm" from her early days. It's one of her best.

Finally, I know the numbers are down for Trump this season, but something tells me that's gonna turn around on "The Apprentice." (search) The bigger field of contestants is going to get whittled down to the bitchy bunch, and then water-coolers will be wagging. Stay tuned.
