Obese people in Canada have the right to two seats on an airplane for the price of one on domestic flights, the country's supreme court ruled on Thursday.
The court would not hear Canadian airlines' appeal to the transportation agency's decision that people "functionally disabled by obesity" can have two seats for a single fare, Reuters reported.
The airlines lost an appeal at the Federal Court of appeals in May as well, so the two seats for the price of one policy stands. The appeal was launched by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet, Reuters reported.
