A high school was locked down and searched by police Friday after a student reported seeing another student with a weapon, a local schools spokeswoman said.

Nothing had been found at Blair High by early afternoon, said Binti Harvey, spokeswoman for the Pasadena Unified School District. The weapon report led to a lockdown and all students were sent to their classrooms, Harvey said.

TV news reports showed students with their hands on their heads walking single-file toward rooms.

Although Pasadena police are still on the scene and checking some rooms of the school as of 1:30 p.m., students are being allowed back into the school.

Police received a report shortly before 9:30 a.m. that there might be a man with a gun on campus, police dispatcher R. Johnson said.

Officers were checking classrooms and individual students as well. When that was complete, parents would be able to take their children home, she said.

No gunman had been found as of 1 p.m., Johnson said.
