Albertson's Inc. (ABS) is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 45 cents a share, according to analysts polled by Thomson First Call.

Cooper Cos. (COO) is seen posting a fiscal first-quarter profit of 64 cents a share.

Edison International's (EIX) fourth-quarter per-share profit is expected to be 46 cents.

Korn Ferry International (KFY) is expected to post earnings of 27 cents a share in its fiscal third quarter

Kroger Co. (KR) is seen reporting a fourth-quarter per-share profit of 36 cents.

Martek Biosciences Corp.'s (MATK) fiscal first-quarter results are expected to show earnings of 13 cents a share.

OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc. (OSIP) is expected to report a fourth-quarter per-share loss of 38 cents.

Pixar Animation Studios (PIXR) is seen posting a fourth-quarter profit of 18 cents a share.

Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO) is expected to report a loss of 11 cents a share in its fiscal first quarter.

Altera Corp. (ALTR) said its chief financial officer, Nathan Sarkisian, plans to retire by the end of the year. The news came as the chipmaker affirmed its quarterly revenue outlook. See full story.

CMGI Inc. (CMGI) said its second-quarter net loss was $6.32 million, or 2 cents a share. During the same period last year, the company reported net income of $7.23 million, or 2 cents a share. CMGI, which provides e-commerce services, said quarterly revenue was $318.8 million, compared with $292 million last year.

Comstock Homebuilding Companies Inc. (CHCI) said fourth-quarter net income was $9.2 million, or 65 cents a share, compared with $3.69 million, or 45 cents a share, during the same period last year. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call were looking for per-share income of 65 cents. Comstock said quarterly revenue was $77.2 million, compared with $21.5 million last year. Analysts were looking for revenue of $79 million.

FuelCell Energy Inc. (FCEL) said the first-quarter net loss was $15.1 million, compared with a net loss of $18 million during the same period last year. The quarterly net loss attributable to shareholders was $16.7 million, or 34 cents a share, compared with a loss of $19.4 million, or 40 cents a share, last year. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had expected a first-quarter per-share loss of 37 cents. FuelCell, which develops "clean" electric power plants, said quarterly revenue was $5.94 million, compared with $7.55 million last year.

GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) and Myogen Inc. (MYOG) said they will work together on distributing the two companies' pulmonary arterial hypertension drugs, one of which is still in trials. Myogen licensed commercialization rights for ambrisentan, currently in Phase III development, to GlaxoSmithKline in all territories outside the U.S. At the same time, Myogen will be responsible for the U.S. marketing and distribution of GlaxoSmithKline's Flolan, also used to treat pulmonary high blood pressure. Myogen will receive $20 million initially, and could get up to $80 million in milestone payments. Myogen will also receive royalties on product sales.

Jo-Ann Stores Inc. (JAS) reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $18 million, or 78 cents a share. A year ago, the specialty retailer said net income was $32.3 million, or $1.40 a share. Reporting after the close, the company said sales ticked up 2.7% to $604.1 million from last year's $588.2 million. Excluding items, the company would have earned 39 cents a share. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expected the company to earn 31 cents a share.

LSI Logic Corp. (LSI) unveiled further steps to restructure its operations, signaling it plans to focus its business on chips for the information storage and consumer electronics markets. See full story.

Merrill Lynch & Co.'s (MER) private equity arm has agreed to acquire privately held NPC International Inc., the world's largest franchisee of Pizza Hut restaurants, with 790 locations, NPC said. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The agreement is expected to close in the spring.

Microchip Technology Inc. (MCHP) raised its fourth-quarter earnings and revenue forecasts. The analog chipmaker now expects to earn about 35 cents a share on revenue in a range of $243 million to $245 million. In January, the company had forecast a profit of 34 cents a share on $242 million in revenue.

NovAtel Inc. (NGPS) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of C$5.13 million ($4.3 million), or 58 Canadian cents a share, down 11% from C$5.78 million, or 67 Canadian cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue at the Calgary, Alberta-based maker of global positioning systems rose 12% to C$16.2 million from C$14.4 million last year.

Semtech Corp. (SMTC) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $13.3 million, or 18 cents a share, up 9.5% from $12.1 million, or 16 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue at the Camarillo, Calif.-based chipmaker rose to $64.4 million from $58.4 million last year, while new orders rose 26%. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call had forecast earnings of 17 cents a share on revenue of $64 million.

Xilinx Inc. (XLNX) reaffirmed its prior first-quarter revenue forecast, saying it expects revenue to rise between 1% and 5% over its fourth-quarter sales of $450 million. Such a range would bring the programmable logic chipmaker's revenue to between $454 million and $472 million. The company's chips are used in products such as cellphone base stations, network routers and DVD players.
