Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 20 cents a share.

Coventry Health Care Inc. (CVH) is expected to post per-share earnings of 97 cents in the fourth quarter.

DRS Technologies Inc. (DRS) is expected to report third-quarter per-share earnings of 78 cents.

Hasbro Inc. (HAS) is expected to post per-share earnings of 67 cents in the fourth quarter.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (LGF) is expected to report third-quarter earnings of 19 cents a share.

MasterCard (MA) is expected to post per-share earnings of 17 cents for the fourth quarter.

Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY) is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 75 cents a share.

Broadcom Corp. (BRCM) late Thursday reported its fourth-quarter profit fell 76% from a year ago, hurt by charges related to its stock option review, while sales rose on demand for its communications chips.

Advo Inc.'s (AD) first-quarter net income fell sharply to $702,000, or 2 cents a share, from $12 million, or 38 cents a share, a year earlier, hurt by $19.2 million in charges related to litigation with and the pending buyout of the company by Valassis Inc. (VCI) .

Allegheny Energy Inc. (AYE) reported fourth-quarter net income of $64.6 million, or 38 cents a share, up from $3.1 million, or 2 cents a share, a year ago. The company attributed the steep gains in part to better performance at its power plants and the expiration of below-market sales contracts.

Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. (AHL) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $119.5 million, or $1.20 a share, compared with $30.3 million, or 33 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The insurance and reinsurance company posted net premiums written of $278.1 million vs. $188.1 million.

Atari Inc. (ATAR) narrowed its fiscal third-quarter loss to $715,000, or 5 cents a share, from a year-ago loss of $4.8 million, or 35 cents a share. The company reported earnings from continuing operations of 13 cents a share.

Black & Decker Corp. (BDK) raised its quarterly dividend 11% to 42 cents from 38 cents and it authorized the repurchase of another 3 million shares, leaving about 5.2 million shares authorized for repurchase.

Callaway Golf Co. (ELY) reported a fourth-quarter net loss $10.2 million, or 15 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $18.7 million, or 27 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The company said it expects 2007 per-share pro forma earnings, including charges for employee long-term incentive compensation, of 66 cents to 76 cents on revenue of $1.035 billion to $1.055 billion.

CBL & Associates Properties Inc.'s (CBL) fourth-quarter net income grew 26% to $42 million, or 52 cents a share, from a year-earlier profit of $33.3 million, or 40 cents a share. The real estate investment trust's funds from operations increased 14.6% to $66.6 million, or $1.02 a share, from $56.6 million, or 89 cents a share in the year-earlier period.

Celanese Corp. (CE) said it has named President and Chief Executive David Weidman to the additional role of chairman. Also, as a result of its decreased ownership position, the Blackstone Group will reduce its representation on the company's board.

Coldwater Creek Inc. (CWTR) said it expects fiscal 2007 net income of 55 cents to 63 cents a share including stock-based compensation costs on sales of $1.24 billion to $1.27 billion. The company expects first-quarter earnings of 7 cents to 9 cents a share on sales ranging from $260 million to $265 million.

Crown Castle International Corp.'s (CCI) fourth-quarter loss narrowed to $6.28 million, or 6 cents a share, from a year-earlier loss of $23.3 million, or 21 cents a share, as revenue rose. The company forecast a loss of 19 cents to 30 cents a share for the first quarter and a loss of 44 cents to 81 cents a share for the full year.

CV Therapeutics Inc. (CVTX) said its fourth-quarter net loss narrowed to $68.1 million, or $1.18 a share, compared with $74.1 million, or $1.65 a share, in the same period last year. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based biopharmaceutical company said revenue rose to $12.7 million from $3.43 million.

Digital River Inc. (DRIV) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $16.4 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with a restated $18.1 million, or 45 cents a share, in the same period last year, as expenses rose. For the first quarter, the company sees per-share net earnings of 44 cents, or 53 cents, excluding items, on revenue of $88 million.

Embarq Corp. (EQ) said profit rose to $194 million, or $1.28 a share, from $155 million a year earlier. Since the company was still part of Sprint in the 2005 fourth quarter, there's no corresponding per-share comparison.

Energy Conversion Devices Inc. (ENER) reported a second-quarter net loss of $2.91 million, or 7 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $5.74 million, or 19 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The company posted total revenue of $22.9 million vs. $24.3 million.

Gateway Inc. (GTW) reported a fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $8.8 million, or 2 cents a share, compared to a loss of $20.9 million, or 5 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue slipped about 9%, to $1.02 billion from $1.124 billion in the year-ago quarter.

McAfee (MFE) said its fourth-quarter profit fell 9%, while sales rose 20% and beat analyst expectations. McAfee said net income for its fiscal fourth quarter ended Dec. 31 fell to $35 million, or 21 cents a share, from $38.6 million, or 23 cents a share during the period a year ago.

Napster Inc. (NAPS) reported a loss of $9.5 million, or 22 cents a share, compared to a loss of $17 million or 40 cents a share a year ago. During the quarter, Napster said it added 48,000 more subscribers to reach 566,000.

Nationwide Financial Services (NFS) said fourth-quarter net income came in at 154.2 million, or $1.03 a share, up 18% from a year earlier when the life insurer made $130.3 million, or 85 cents a share. Operating earnings, which exclude net realized investment gains and losses, were $144.7 million, or 97 cents a share, the company added.

Neurobiological Technologies Inc. (NTII) reported a second-quarter net loss of $3.11 million, or 11 cents a share, compared with $15.4 million, or 55 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The company posted revenue of $4.02 million vs. $2.36 million.

Oakley Inc. (OO) said fourth-quarter net income was $7.67 million, or 11 cents a share, vs. $9.58 million, or 14 cents a share, for the same period a year ago. Sales for the sunglass maker were $196.4 million vs. last year's $162.4 million.

Pfizer Inc. (PFE) said the Food and Drug Administration approved new labeling of its Sutent kidney cancer drug. With the change, Sutent's original accelerated approval to treat advanced kidney cancer, granted in January 2006, has been converted to regular approval.

Silicon Image Inc. (SIMG) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $26.3 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with $12.6 million, or 15 cents a share, in the same period last year. The company sees 2007 revenue of $340 million to $360 million.

W. R. Berkley Corp. (BER) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $198.1 million, or 98 cents a share, compared with $167.4 million, or 83 cents a share, in the same period last year, as net investment income rose. Excluding realized investment gains and losses, the Greenwich, Conn.-based insurance holding company posted per-share earnings of 96 cents vs. 82 cents the prior year.

UAL Corp.'s (UAUA) United Airlines said it has received final approval from the Department of Transportation to begin daily service between Washington, D.C. and Beijing.

United Parcel Service Inc.'s (UPS) board late Thursday boosted its quarterly dividend to 42 cents from 38 cents, citing confidence in its financial prospects. The company said that the board also voted to increase to $2 billion its authorization for the repurchase of class A and B shares.
