Among the companies whose shares are expected to see active trade in Friday's session are Amazon.com Inc., Electronic Arts Inc. and Weyerhaeuser Co.

Ryder System Inc. (R) is expected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 94 cents a share, according to analysts polled by Thomson First Call.

THQ Inc. (THQI) is seen posting a fiscal first-quarter profit of 65 cents a share.

Weatherford International Ltd.'s (WFT) fourth-quarter earnings are expected to be 44 cents a share.

Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY) is expected to post a per-share profit of 74 cents in its fourth quarter.

Bookham Inc. (BKHM) reported a fiscal second-quarter net loss of $11.9 million, or 28 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $41.1 million, or $1.23 a share. Excluding certain items, its loss was $8.3 million, or 19 cents a share. Revenue was $60.7 million, up from $45.8 million in the year-ago period.

Cerner Corp. (CERN) reported fourth-quarter earnings of $27.4 million, or 34 cents a share, up from $21.4 million, or 28 cents a share, last year. Revenue rose to $325.8 million from $248.2 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had forecast a per-share profit of 34 cents on revenue of $309 million.

Cohu Inc. (COHU) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $12.3 million, or 53 cents a share, vs. $2.46 million, or 11 cents a share, last year. Revenue at the Poway, Calif.-based maker of semiconductor test-handling equipment rose 95%, to $74.1 million from $38.1 million.

ConAgra Foods Inc. (CAG) said it plans to sell most of its refrigerated meats businesses, including the Armour, Butterball, and Eckrich brands. The combined annual sales for the businesses being offered for sale are about $1.9 billion, the company said. It expects the sale process to take 10 to 12 months. The Omaha, Neb.-based packaged food company also said it will realign some operations including moving its grocery goods headquarters to Naperville, Ill., from Irvine, Calif., and further centralizing its shared services.

Forward Industries Inc. (FORD) said first-quarter net income was $774,000, or 10 cents a share, compared with $1.37 million, or 21 cents a share, during the year-earlier period. The designer of custom cases for cellular phones and home medical diagnostic equipment said quarterly revenue was $8.67 million, compared with $8.92 million last year.

Fossil Inc. (FOSL) said it now expects fourth-quarter net sales of $324 million, below its prior view of $343 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call are looking for fourth-quarter revenue of $344 million. The watch and clothing company said it now expects quarterly per-share income of 28 cents to 31 cents, compared with its prior view of 48 cents. Analysts are looking for per-share income of 49 cents. Fossil said the earnings shortfall is primarily due to lower sales and profit margins than it had previously expected. The company now estimates full-year earnings per share will be $1.04 to $1.07, or 87 cents to 90 cents, excluding tax benefits.

Gateway Inc. (GTW) reported a 76% drop in its fourth-quarter profit, even as the No. 3 U.S. personal-computer maker saw increased revenue overall. See full story.

Intuitive Surgical Inc. (ISRG) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $49.5 million, or $1.31 a share, compared with $11.7 million, or 32 cents a share, during the same period a year ago. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based surgical robotics company posted revenue of $72.1 million vs. $45.2 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had forecast fourth-quarter earnings of 49 cents a share on revenue of $67 million.

Mylan Laboratories Inc. (MYL) reported fiscal third-quarter net earnings of $48.2 million, or 22 cents a share, up 39% from $34.8 million, or 13 cents a share, last year. Excluding certain items, the company reported a per-share profit of 25 cents a share. Revenue rose to $311.2 million from $291 million. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had forecast a profit of 24 cents a share on revenue of $308 million.

On Semiconductor Corp. (ONNN) reported fourth-quarter net earnings applicable to common stock of $21.2 million, or 7 cents a share. During the same period a year ago, the Phoenix-based company posted a net loss applicable to common stock of $90.8 million, or 36 cents a share. Net income came in at $43.8 million. Last year, the company posted a net loss of $88.3 million. On Semi said revenue rose to $341.8 million from $306.8 million. Gross margin was 35% for the quarter. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $330 million.

Rackable Systems Inc. (RACK) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $7.31 million, or 32 cents a share. In the same period last year, the company reported a net loss of $14.3 million, or $2.57 a share. Excluding certain items, per-share earnings came in at 33 cents compared with a loss of 9 cents last year. There were 22.7 million shares outstanding in the fourth-quarter vs. 5.57 million a year ago. Revenue at the Milpitas, Calif.-based server and data storage company rose to $83.1 million from $23 million.

Standard Pacific Corp. (SPF) said fourth-quarter profit rose from last year on gains in delivery unit volume and gross margins.
