Spring break is coming up, which means it's time to invest in a sexy new swimsuit.

If you’re Jessica Alba, you can get away with just about anything. But if you’re not, we’ve got some great advice to make this year the best spring break beach experience ever.

Yes, going to the gym and toning up is important because swimsuits, by virtue of their form and function, tend to leave little to the imagination.

More important, however, is learning which swimsuits work best for your body type. Cuts, shapes, fabrics, prints can have a major impact on how your beach-bod looks, so it's important to be well informed before you buy so you get it right! No matter what your problem area, there's a style that's perfect for you.

Discovering your body type is the first step. We’ve broken down the four basic body types to help you get past this first hump.

Apple - An apple-shape is one where the upper torso is larger than the hips and thighs. Apple figures usually have broad shoulders, wide torsos and large busts with narrow hips and slim legs.

Pear - A pear-shaped figure is defined by a smaller bust and waist in proportion to the hips and thighs. The upper torso and waist are usually the slimmest regions of a pear-shaped body and ladies with this figure tend to have bony necks and chests.

Hourglass - The hourglass figure has long been regarded as the ideal feminine form. Women with this hape have wide hips and busts that are in proportion to one another and very narrow waists.

Pencil - A pencil shaped figure is one that is long, lean, and shapeless. Ladies with this body type tend to be lanky with small busts and minimal curves.

Today, we'll show you a few suits for each shape. But tune in throughout the rest of the week and we will feature a different shape every day, complete with ten suits a how-to guide for finding the right fit for you.
