Updated

New Jersey State Police say a small plane crashed after taking off from Sussex County Airport Wednesday.

Sgt. Stephen Jones says two men, ages 57 and 61, were flown by helicopter to Morristown hospital. Jones says the men were conscious and one may have a broken leg.

No names have been released.

The single-engine plane is nose down in a stream in a heavily wooded area.

The report came in around 8:18 a.m. and a pilot went up to search and directed troopers to the scene at 8:50 a.m.

The aircraft is registered to Royal Flying Club in Rockaway Township.
