Amy Winehouse has pulled the plug on her August concerts after being hospitalized last week for "severe exhaustion."

Spokeswoman Tracey Miller said the 23-year-old British soul singer was putting her touring commitments on hold "in order to address her health issues."

"Her family has requested that the media respect Amy's privacy at this time. There will be no further comment," Miller said Thursday in a statement.

British newspapers reported this week that Winehouse had checked into — and then out of — a rehab clinic near London. Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, said the couple had just gone home to pick up a guitar.

"Don't worry, she's being looked after. We're going back to this retreat. She's determined to get well," he said Thursday.

Winehouse is scheduled to begin a North American tour next month.
