Sea Creatures Could Help Parkinson's Patients

People suffering from Parkinson’s disease may one day be able to benefit from a brain implant, thanks to the response of a startled sea creature; it is being reported by the BBC News.
In the latest issue of the Science journal, American researchers described the sea creature as rapidly switching from rigid to flexible – and vice versa.

The new finding inspired a new material that mimics this sea creature, which could be used to make sophisticated brain electrodes, which are hard when implanted, but soft inside the body.

Of course, adding water would change the state of the material – an important feature since the brain is surrounded by water.
