Eight middle school students were taken to hospitals on Thursday after their school bus rolled over in a collision with a car.

Other students were treated at the scene and released.

A school official said the worst injury is a broken arm.

Miami-Dade County School District spokesperson John Schuster said that 43 students from Henry Filer Middle School in Hialeah were headed home on the privately owned school bus.

According to Hialeah police, a Mazda rolled through a stop sign, then collided with the bus in an intersection. The bus rolled over the car, then flipped on its side.

Authorities say the Mazda's driver and a passenger were hospitalized. Police say the Mazda's driver will be cited for the crash.
