College shock-jocks at Roger Williams University's student-run radio station are off the air after repeating the phrase that got national radio personality Don Imus fired.

Dana Peloso and Jon Porter were suspended this week after they said the words "nappy-headed hos" over and over on their show.

Peloso and Porter claim censorship. They said they used the phrase in the context of a discussion about the aftermath of the Imus controversy.

The pair of amateur jocks was trying to be edgy, the station's program director said.

But Peloso and Porter blame the university's administration.

They said their right to free speech has been violated because they've butted heads with the school in the past.

In 2004, the pair got in hot water after offering a whites-only scholarship to protest affirmative action.

Imus was canned by CBS Radio and NBC Television after making remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team that many considered racist.
