LONDON – Soul singer Amy Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of assault on Friday following reports that she scuffled with two men during a wild night out, according to British reports.
Tabloid newspapers quoted a man who said he was hit by Winehouse when he got in her way while she was playing pool at a bar in the Camden neighborhood and then head-butted another who was trying to hail her a cab in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
London's Metropolitan police said they had arrested a 24-year-old woman on suspicion of assault but were not naming her. British authorities usually do not name suspects until they have been charged.

Winehouse voluntarily appeared at a London police station on Friday to be questioned in connection with an alleged assault, her spokesman said.
According to British tabloid The Sun, the tearful singer best known for her hit "Rehab" was locked in discussions with Scotland Yard detectives for around half an hour on Friday after arriving at 5:15 p.m. local time, more than two hours late.
After leaving her North London home on time at around 2 p.m., the singer frustrated cops by making a lengthy detour to her hairdresser, The Sun reported.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault after attending a central London police station by appointment. She is currently in custody."
The retro-soul singer has had problems with the law at home and abroad.
She and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested in the Norwegian city of Bergen in October and held overnight on charges of drug possession.
She was arrested in London later that year on suspicion of attempting to interfere with a court case involving Fielder-Civil, but in February police said prosecutors no longer were pursuing the affair.
Fielder-Civil faces charges of perverting the course of justice stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman.
Earlier this year a video of Winehouse allegedly smoking crack hit the Internet. Winehouse performed at the Grammys via satellite in February, her first public performance since being released from a London rehabilitation clinic for substance abuse.
Winehouse won five Grammys for her album "Back to Black," which has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.
