In a scene right out of the Oscar-winning movie, 10-year-old "Slumdog Millionaire" star Azharuddin Mohammed was beaten and kicked while cameras clicked.

Photos published in The Sun in London Friday show a man identified as the boy's father, Ismail, physically punishing the child, after the child balked at being put on display, the paper said.

“He didn’t attend school today so that he could recover from his long flight from L.A. and simply wanted all the attention to stop," an eyewitness told The Sun.

"However, when Azharuddin put his foot down and said that was it and there was to be no more talking, Ismail just flipped.'”
