The parents of missing 4-year-old Madeleine McCann reportedly were named as prime suspects in her disappearance, the Daily Mail reports.
In a new interim report given to prosecutors by Portuguese police, the theory that Gerry and Kate McCann accidentally killed Madeleine and then disposed of her body still is believed.
The report, which was expected to be released on Thursday, the eight-month anniversary of her disappearance, also was to include the theory that Madeleine was kidnapped from the apartment her parents were staying at on vacation in Praia de Luz on May 3, the Daily Mail reports.

The McCanns, who maintain their innocence, were hoping to be cleared in the disappearance of their daughter.
Police had eight months to present the prosecutor with a report, allowing the investigation into her death to continue.
