Britney Spears is scheduled to begin touring next spring for the first time in four years, OK magazine is reporting.

Spears, 26, will reportedly take her singing and dancing act on tour in 2008 in support of her new album, “Circus,” which will hit stores on Dec. 2, her 27th birthday.

Spears’ last tour in 2004 earned $34 million in ticket sales, OK said.

The last time Spears performed live and in public was at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, where she appeared distracted and out-of-shape, OK reported.

The tour will no doubt aid in Spears’ recent comeback. Her new single “Womanizer” has been making a steady climb up the pop charts.

According to OK, the single’s sexy new video has only increased Spears’ status as 2008’s resident comeback kid.
