Police have found the body of a missing 9-year-old quadriplegic girl in a public storage facility near Flint, Mich.

Flint police said in a statement that investigators found the body of Shylea Thomas early Wednesday at a storage facility in Vienna Township, about 65 miles northwest of Detroit.

Detective Sgt. Mitch Brown says officers went to a Flint home after receiving a call from state Department of Human Services workers that the girl was missing.

Brown says investigators learned overnight that Shylea died several weeks ago and where her body was stored.

Police have made one arrest but haven't identified the person.

An autopsy was planned to determine a cause of death.
