A mother says she is furious after a high school principal allegedly made her son and another boy apologize to each other on their hands and knees.

The freshmen at Waterford High School outside Modesto were being disciplined for fighting.

One boy said the principal made them get on their hands and knees, look at each other through a chair and promise to stop their behavior.

Penny Watson — the mother of one of the boys — says she plans to file a complaint with the district.

Watson says Principal Don Davis told her he meted out the unusual punishment rather than suspend her son.

Davis said he could not comment while the matter was being reviewed.
