Security officials and a U.N. radio station say a plane carrying about 20 people has crashed in southern Sudan.

The country's state-run National Television says senior government officials were aboard. It gave no details about casualties.

The United Nations-operated Mireya FM radio quoted an unidentified Sudanese air operations official as saying there were no survivors.

But Sudanese security officials could not confirm that and said emergency workers were still en route to the scene. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media.
