A photographer wound up in the hospital after Lindsay Lohan knocked him down with her car, he says, but she says he aggressively cornered her, jumping on the hood of her vehicle.

According to the New York Post, Lohan told cops she was driving friends in her mom's 2004 BMW when they pulled up to Manhattan's trendy Hotel Gansevoort at about 3 a.m. to dodge paparazzi, who swarmed her in the valet lane.

One photographer, identified as Giovanni Arnold, even jumped on the hood of Lohan's car, the actress told police.

Arnold's employer, INF Photo, had a very different take on the confrontation, according to the Post.

INF claims that Arnold was standing in front of Lohan's BMW when she flipped it into reverse and then drive, knocking him down.

The photographer ended up at St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

"She got out of the car to look at Giovanni on the ground as she's talking to a cop, and then she's allowed to leave," said Dawn Leikness, INF sales director.

"The other photographers there threw a fit that she was allowed to leave. The cops then asked her friends to call her to come back, and she came back."

NYPD detectives were still probing the incident but seemed to believe Lohan, sources told the Post.

Meanwhile, the star's father, Michael Lohan, was released Tuesday from the Collins Correctional Facility in western New York.

When asked outside the office if he had a message for his estranged daughter, he told Splash News, "I love her, and I'm here for her."

Michael, 46, spent about 20 months behind bars for a DUI conviction.
