Authorities have released new details in the case of five men who were found slain in a Birmingham apartment.

They say the men appear to have been bound with duct tape and their throats were slashed.

The men were last seen alive Sunday and their bodies were discovered Wednesday night. Police say it does not appear they were shot.

Shelby County sheriff's investigators and other law enforcement officers searched the premises of a home apparently in connection with the killings.

Three pickup trucks towed from the home's yard and investigators also studied a wooded area behind the house.

Shelby County District Attorney Robby Owens declined comment about angles that authorities may be pursuing, saying they're awaiting autopsy reports.

The men have not been identified.
