Spencer Tunick, the photographer who travels the globe photographing large groups of naked people, is meeting some resistance in the Holy Land, where he plans mass nude shoots in Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea, The New York Post reported Saturday.

Dov Litvinoff, head of the Tamar Regional Council, vowed he wouldn't support the project "logistically nor in terms of budget."

He added, "A nude display of thousands of nudists does not promote the Dead Sea, it promotes the whim of someone who calls himself an artist."

Transracial.net reports Tunick is slated to arrive in Israel next month to scout sites.
