Nicole Richie introduces her infant daughter, Harlow, in the new issue of People magazine.

Richie, 26, and her boyfriend, Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden, 28, also pose in the photos, for which People reportedly paid $1 million.

"She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose," Richie tells the magazine of Harlow, adding that she's ready to "move on" from her days as a wild child. Her last DUI conviction resulted in 82 minutes of jail time early in her pregnancy.

"Now that I look back on it, I was a different person last year than I am now," she says. "And, listen, sometimes I'll be here and I'll think to myself, 'I used to be fun! What if I'm not fun anymore?'"

But, she adds, "I'm still fun, just not in that way."

Richie also says Harlow didn't resemble her dad at first.

"She came out and I just knew she looks like me, and I was holding her, and was something so much bigger than me. Now she looks a little more like Joel, but when she was born, it looked like Joel had nothing to do with it."

Richie also says Harlow's birth was easy. "I don't know what time I actually went into labor," she says, "but I pushed for 10 minutes. Three pushes and she was out."

Fashionistas have cooed over Richie's cool name choice for the baby: Harlow Winter Kate Madden, which she says she and Madden both liked.

"I wanted a hippie name and he wanted a more biblical name," says Richie, to which Madden adds, "I really like Jean Harlow the actress, and she likes Shalom Harlow the model. Harlow's cool because it feels like a classic name."

The former "Simple Life" star gave birth Jan. 11 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles while singer Christina Aguilera and her husband had their baby just doors down the hall.
