New York Store Clerk Wards Off Robber With Ax

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. – A tiny 27-year-old New York store clerk stalled a robber pointing a gun at her by swinging a giant ax at him until he fled from her family's Long Island convenience store.

Hafize Sahin, who is 4-foot-5 and 90 pounds, was working alone at the store when a 6-foot-tall man wearing a mask, walked in, pulled a pistol and pointed it at her, according to the New York Post.

"I was scared, I was shaking," said she told the Post. "He was going 'Give me the money!' I said 'hold on, wait, I can't find the key.' I took my time, making believe I couldn't open the drawer."
