JERUSALEM – Israeli prosecutors have filed murder charges against the mother and grandfather of a French 4-year-old whose body was pulled out of a Tel Aviv river.
Roni Ron and Marie-Charlotte Renault have been indicted in a Tel Aviv court on charges of killing Rose Pizem. Renault was married to Rose's father before leaving him for Ron, her husband's father and her daughter's grandfather.
The indictment released Monday says the two did not want to raise the girl and decided together to "cause Rose's death" and that one or both of them killed her.
Ron initially told police he struck and mistakenly killed the little girl, then threw her body into the Yarkon River. It was found there on Sept. 11.
