COLUMBIA, Pa. – Police in Lancaster County say a 12-year-old boy told investigators he had sex with a 24-year-old former York woman — and his mother accepted money for it from the woman.
Twenty-four-year-old Ashley Banks is being held in the York County Prison. She waived a preliminary hearing May 21 on rape and theft charges. Police say Banks acknowledged to them that she had sex with the boy.
The boy had told a Lancaster County Children and Youth Services worker and other authorities that he and Banks had sex when she lived with his family in Columbia in 2005. He said his mother knew about it and accepted money from Banks.
Columbia police Detective Dan Bell says the mother has since moved to another part of the state, and the boy has received counseling and is living with his father.
