Marianne Chapman is just 31 years old — but she can’t pick up her kids like she used to, run or even ride a bike.
She doesn’t have full use of her hands and also has problems throughout the rest of her body — and Chapman blames it all on Fixodent denture adhesive cream.
She’s now suing the company that makes the cream, Procter & Gamble, the Florida news station WPTV News Channel 5 in West Palm Beach reported.
According to the complaint that was filed, Chapman suffered and continues to suffer injuries including zinc poisoning and neurological issues from use of the denture cream.
Chapman said she was using three or four tubes of the cream a week.
"It was quite a bit," she said.
In a statement released by Procter & Gamble, the company said, "Fixodent contains ingredients that are generally recognized as safe in the amounts used. A small amount of zinc is used in Fixodent to help the denture stay in place securely."
There are reportedly at least another dozen similar cases across the country, according to WPTV.
