Missing Child Alert Issued for Fla. Girl

HOMOSASSA – Citrus County Sheriff's officials say a missing child alert has been issued for a 9-year-old girl who was reported missing Thursday.

The sheriff's office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (search) are looking for Jessica Lunsford and said she may be in danger. She was last seen wearing a pink nightgown and white shorts.

The girl's grandparents reported her missing after they went to wake her Thursday morning.

Homosassa is about 76 miles west of Orlando.
