Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is getting a new $65,000 private bathroom in his office suite.

The bathroom, with a sitting room and shower, is being built even as Leggett is proposing a tax increase and the elimination of 225 jobs.

He says he doesn't see the bathroom as a big expense and says he didn't ask for it.

According to Leggett's aides, his security detail did not want him using a public restroom at the county office building because walking back and forth could expose him to harm.

Leggett's predecessor, Douglas Duncan originally had a private bathroom but soon used the space for an empoylee kitchenette. He then used the public restroom.
