Manhunt Under Way for 'Armed and Dangerous' Suspect in Oklahoma Triple Homicide

Police in Oklahoma are hunting for a triple homicide suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

A manhunt is under way for 20-year-old Robert Chad Barela, after three victims were found shortly after 5 a.m. Tuesday at a house in a residential part of Cushing, Okla., said Police Chief Terry Brannon.

Brannon said Barela is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a maroon 1998 Chevrolet Blazer that is missing from the home with Oklahoma license plate PLV 922, The Oklahoman reported.

He is described as a white man, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the paper.

Barela might be carrying a sawed-off shotgun and several handguns, The Oklahoman said.

All seven of the schools in the Cushing district were locked down about 9:45 a.m. after the gruesome discovery.

Brannon said the cause of death of the three victims hasn't been determined and their names have not been released.

They were found in the 800 block of East Moses Street, a residential area of town, according to Radio Oklahoma Network affiliate KUSH radio. There were few details immediately available.

Cushing is in southeastern Payne County, about 25 miles southeast of Stillwater.
