Man, Woman and Child Found Shot to Death in NYC Park

NEW YORK – A man, woman and child were found shot to death Friday morning beside a boathouse in a sprawling New York City park, authorities said.

The shooting was reported just before 8 a.m. in Van Cortlandt Park, in the Bronx, according to police. Fire officials identified the dead as a man, woman and a child, believed to be about 4 years old.

No other information was immediately released.

Van Cortlandt Park is the city's third largest, covering 1,146 acres with trails, lakes, ball fields and a golf course just north of Manhattan.
