A 24-year-old man shot in the knee, arm and chest in Sydney, Australia on Thursday drove himself home, then decided he should drive himself to a hospital instead, police said.

The man told police he drove to a gas station parking lot in the suburb of Blacktown at about 9:30pm Thursday local time and was shot by two men.

"The victim drove home from the scene, despite his wounds, before deciding to admit himself to hospital," the New South Wales Police Force said in a statement. The man was in a stable condition in the hospital, awaiting surgery. Police were investigating the shooting.
