A convicted sex offender facing a death penalty trial in the slaying of a 20-year-old Clemson University student last year was ordered by a judge Monday to supply investigators with fingerprints and a DNA sample.

Jerry Buck Inman, 36, faces kidnapping, rape and murder charges in the death of Tiffany Marie Souers, who police said was killed when Inman strangled her with a bikini top.

Souers, an engineering student from Ladue, Missouri, was found dead in her off-campus apartment May 26.

Inman also faces charges in the attempted rape of a 24-year-old woman in Rainsville, Alabama, and in the rape of a 28-year-old woman at her home in Sevierville, Tennessee.

The judge also told investigators to return to Souers' family a necklace, ring and computer that were collected as evidence from her apartment in the probe of her death.
