A video showing Michael Jackson during the 1984 Pepsi commercial accident that some blame for his painkiller addiction was posted online at Usmagazine.com.
In the video, Jackson is seen rehearsing for the commercial at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 27, 1984. In one take, the pyrotechnics explode as planned, and Jackson descends the stairs and dances with his brothers onstage.

During the sixth take, however, the explosions go off early and Jackson's hair catches fire. He is unaware of the flames at first, and continues dancing, the video at Usmagazine.com shows.
The magazine's July 15 issue says the pop icon was never the same again after the accident.
He had second- and third-degree burns on his scalp and body and took several medications to relieve the pain and to help cope with multiple surgeries on his head. According to several sources, the incident kicked off Jackson's "addiction to painkillers and obsession with plastic surgery," Usmagazine.com reported.
