The last of the Suleman octuplets will soon leave the hospital and join his brothers and sisters at home, People magazine reported Thursday.

Jonah Suleman, who weighed 1-pound, 8-ounces at birth and has a cleft lip that still needs to be repaired, has tripled in weight, Dr. Mandhir Gupta, a neonatologist at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center, told the magazine.

“Baby Jonah is doing very well,” Gupta said. “In fact, he’s thriving. He’s getting stronger with each passing day.”

The octuplets were conceived via in vitro fertilization to single mother Nadya Suleman, who has six older children that were also conceived using in vitro. They were born on Jan. 26 and the media has followed Suleman’s story ever since.

Gupta said Jonah’s cleft lip can be repaired as an outpatient procedure within the next few months.
