Welcome to the PC&G blog!

My name’s Liz, and I scour the Web for cool sites — not all of them make it into our weekly video package, so we’re posting them right here. I’ll post my finds daily.

Got something you think we should see? Send me an e-mail at mobileliz@foxnews.com!

Suggested by Amanda from Staten Island, NY:

Hot Hot Hot — If this video promo doesn't make you want to attend Appalachian State University, then I don't know what will. I must agree, it's HOT, HOT, HOT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVENWl8uBeg

Odd People — And people say I'm odd?! I think not, especially after reading this article about the 10 strangest people in the world, like the man who ate his twin brother. OK, so he really didn't eat his twin brother, but it sure looked like he did. I'd retell the story, but I don't think I would do it justice — so just make sure you read about weirdest dude No. 2. http://www.oddee.com/item_65612.aspx

Cat Enema — Here's a little story about why you should just suck it up and pay the 15 bucks every few weeks to have a professional give your cat an enema. Or maybe the moral of the story is that in order to get your cat to stop needing enemas you should just do it yourself and literally scare the crap out of it. OR MAYBE you just shouldn't own a cat in the first place. The decision is yours; I suggest you choose wisely. http://www.catenema.com/cat1.html

Tiny Living — My apartment has, at times, been described as a closet, which works for me since I'm all of 5 feet tall. However, finding furniture to fit in the apartment can be rather difficult — for example, having to cut the legs off of my sofa to get it to fit. PROBLEM SOLVED! This site has mini products for mini homes, and I want them all. http://www.tinyliving.com

Machine Hero — WATCH OUT "Spidey" 'cause "Mighty Mobile Liz" (yes, that would be my superhero alter ego) can kick ass. This site is pretty much FANTASTIC, and I've spent endless hours perfecting my superhero's look. — I'd tell you what she looks like, but then I'd be forced to kill you. (OK, maybe not, but I've always wanted to say that and now I have, so I'm done.) http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heroMachine2/heromachine2.asp

You Sexy Thing — I don't really think this is what the band Hot Chocolate was singing about in their 1975 hit single, "You Sexy Thing," but hey, this guy thinks he's sexy, so why not just let it happen. (Well that, and what better way to start your week than with a healthy dose of sexy back in your life, and trust me, he does have a sexy back. HAHA!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9-j3Kk8Etk&mode=related&search

How Many of Me — Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a “Bizarro” world, with a Bizarro “you” living a funhouse mirror image of your life? Well, this site lets you find out how many people in the U.S. share your exact name. Luckily, you probably won’t be running into any of them on the street, unlike Seinfeld in “The Bizarro Jerry” episode. http://howmanyofme.com/

Speed Up Traffic — Traffic jams are just make people evil, especially weekend traffic going to the Jersey Shore. This site, luckily, has a foolproof plan on how to beat it! Well not really foolproof – that would require people actually learning how to drive — but hey, stranger things have happened. So pass this on to the worst driver you know, and maybe they’ll get the hint. http://www.speeduptraffic.org/

Thunder Rolls — Do you remember McDonald’s: The Rap I posted on June 11th? Well, I ran across another gem from our friend Remy. It’s a little older, but it’s priceless - and I feel we can all relate to the sudden urge you get after consuming too much Taco Bell. WARNING: if you have a weak stomach for potty humor, I don’t suggest watching this. http://mappyhour.nerl.net/

Mappy Hour — It’s “Thirsty Thursday!” What better way to spend your night then by guzzling down a few pints with a friend? Where you ask? Now, that always seems to be the question for me at least. Your solution is Mappy Hour, a site that combines my two favorite things: Google maps (OK, not my FAVORITE thing, but they’re kind of cool) and cheap drinks. Take a look in your area and see what pops up. http://mappyhour.nerl.net/

Miniature Cube — Have you ever been sitting around almost starving to death because you can’t decide on a place to eat? It happens, I know. Well, this site virtually makes the decision for you. Put in your zip code, a price range and your cuisine of choice (which you can always leave blank because sometimes that’s the reason for your indecisiveness). This site magically chooses a location; — if their suggestion is not quite what you’re looking for, you simply hit “decide” again for a new option. http://www.miniaturecube.com/

Yo Name — I’m not exactly sure why, but the name of this site makes me want to throw my arms above my head and start belting out a snazzy rendition of “YMCA” … but that could just be me. ANYWAY … This site lets you type in the name of anyone you want (co-workers, friends, ex-boyfriends and so on) and find out where they are in cyberspace — whether it be MySpace, Facebook, or any other web database out there. This site knows all; — kind of like Santa Clause if you believe in that kind of thing. http://yoname.com/

Suggested by Jon from New York, New York:

Real Ultimate Power — Are you ready to get pumped? I suggest you answer YES, or I assure you, you'll be very disappointed. Robert’s love for Ninjas might go a little TOO far, but the comic genius is delectable. I highly recommend that you look over the entire site; if you don’t, you may just miss something that’s truly NINJA-tastic! http://www.realultimatepower.net/

Pigeons Revenge — I STRONLY dislike pigeons, but I’m going to have to assume that they might dislike us just as much … or maybe even more. (I know if my only source of food was those crazy old ladies in the park whistling to themselves and throwing moldy bread around, I’d be pretty bitter myself.) As the title suggests, this game gives them revenge! Use your mouse to aim your pigeon at seemingly innocent victims walking below. Then, release your “droppings” (for a lack of a better word) and see how many you can hit. It gets a little frustrating, but once you find your technique it’s a piece of cake. http://www.crazymonkeygames.com/Pigeons-Revenge.html

Suggested by Steve from California:

Flash Mob — I’m not really sure how I feel about flash mobs... especially after watching this. It’s a hysterical sketch by some guys out in L.A. — It starts off a little slow, but trust me, it only adds to the anticipation. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/2d3630ce49

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

I’ve decided that Tuesday is a pretty lame day of the week. It seems like every other day has something “special” about it: Monday’s got “a case of the Mondays” ; Wednesday’s “Hump Day” ; Thursday’s “Thirsty Thursday” ; and, well, Friday’s just plain fantastic! This said, I’m unofficially making Tuesday “Flashy Tuesday” (but if you’ve got a better name let me know — I’m open to suggestions). It’s a day filled with weirdly addictive flash games. Here’s my first installment ... enjoy! — Liz

Turkey Trouble — I originally wanted to save this for Thanksgiving, but I just couldn’t keep this gem to myself; I feel like that would have been wrong. So ... the point of the game is to kill the turkeys before they kill you. Now, there is some insane back story to this, something about Potato people and prisoners of war ... so if your interested in that, watch the intro, if not skip it and enjoy the mayhem. http://www.arcademoz.com/game/1289/Turkey_Trouble_v0.1/

Star Shine — “Star light, star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, hit all the stars and win this game tonight! Very addictive and the music’s pretty relaxing too — which might be needed after that wild turkey game. http://www.herointeractive.com/starshine/index.html

Walk in the Park — This might just be the strangest game I’ve ever played. You’re the small Chihuahua-looking dog and your goal is to drag an old man in a wheelchair around the park (which just seems wrong in so many ways). With each level, there’s a new task you have to complete, but it always has something to do with walking through the park. Words really don’t do this game justice, so I’m just going to stop trying now, but you should really give it a try. http://www.maxgames.com/play/a-walk-in-the-park.html

Guess-The-Google — Google has a “special” way of coming up with search results. Sometimes you’ll type in the world “ball” and get some very interesting responses (really, you should try it … and no, it’s not dirty, so get your head out of the gutter, perv.) ANYWAY, this game gives you 20 images from a Google search and 20 seconds to guess what the key word was. Might seem easy at first, but a few do get complicated. http://grant.robinson.name/projects/guess-the-google/game.php?l=5

What Would Happen If? — I found this in the archives of the Violent Acres Blog (which, by the way, is a hysterical site that I suggest you all check out – NOW). Here’s the premise of the story: a woman plays the game, “What would happen if” … she tried to buy 25 bottles of Nyquil. Since I don’t want to give away all the details, I will just say things get a little shady. Check out her blog and read how it ends. http://www.violentacres.com/archives/193/what-would-happen-if-you-bought-25-bottles-of-nyquil

Fish Tales — It’s a little like the Saturday morning cartoon classic “Duck Tales,” but without the money hungry uncle and the talking ducks. OK, so basically it’s nothing like “Duck Tales,” but it’s just as amusing. You’re a guppy and the point is to eat up as many fish as you can ... just remember to go for the ones that are smaller than you, because the bigger ones will eat you! http://wickedgoodgames.com/flash6/fishtales.swf

Ahhhhhh — So I think I might be slightly masochistic because I found this rather mesmerizing. For a Monday morning, I suggest having your volume at a relatively lower level. http://studenthome.nku.edu/~russelljo/flash/dudefalling.swf

Friday, July 20, 2007

Save The Ta-Tas — Yup, it’s what you’re thinking! This company makes clever T-shirts and tanks with parts of their proceeds going to breast cancer research; hence, saving ta-tas. http://www.savethetatas.com/

Gahooyoogle — Sometimes Google gives better search results, but then again sometimes Yahoo gives better search results; well why not just search them both at the same time! Genius I say — pure genius. http://www.gahooyoogle.com/

Tranquil China — I ran across these pictures while searching the Net because, well, what else would I be doing? ANYWAY, I found them absolutely breathtaking and would love to be there right now, staring at the sunset and drinking a cool crisp Mojito. (On that note, I’m out!) http://www.impactlab.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=11344

Thursday, July 19, 2007

Simpsonize Me — It’s a promotional site for the movie coming out on July 27 and it is definitely worth taking a look at. Upload a picture of yourself and the site will transform you into a Simpson! The site’s a little finicky and the image quality is kind of a pain. But, regardless, it’s worth a visit … so check it out! http://www.simpsonizeme.com/index.php

Rejected Google Logos — Yes, that’s exactly what it is. http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-01-05-n11.html

Fly Swat — Flies might be one of the most annoying insects alive, but they do make for a pretty addictive flash game. See how long it takes you to swat 10 flies! I warn you — their virtual version is just as pesky as the real ones. http://majman.net/fly_loader.html

It’s Wednesday, and let’s face it, you’re already starting to count down the minutes ‘til the weekend. So here’s a few quizzes that will definitely waste time, and even make you look like you’re doing real work — well, maybe. — Liz

How Evil are You? — To my surprise, not that evil at all the first time I took it! But now, it says I’m evil … and all because I decided I liked Canada best. http://home.att.net/~slugbutter/evil/

Movie Quiz — How movie savvy are you? I thought I was pretty good, seeing as how I’ve worked in two different video stores in this lifetime! But no, I only got 76% of the question. Let me know how you do. http://www.filmcritic.com/movie-quiz/index.html

Geek Quiz — Yes, as much as no one wants to truly admit it, we all have a little geek in us. I’ll be honest, I’m 26% geek. http://mingle2.com/geek-quiz

Health Assessment — I know, it sounds a little lame, but this site has a huge list of personality quizzes. Take an anger profile, a love diagnosis test or even a sensuality test. Now here’s where I’d normally share my results … but come on, I’ve got to have some secrets! http://health.discovery.com/tools/assessments.html

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

The Quote Blog — Here’s a list of quotes by some of the brightest people out there. I think my favorite comes from GN’R frontman Axl Rose, who says this about relationships: “It’s really hard to maintain a one-on-one relationship if the other person is not going to allow me to be with other people.” Not as endearing as the lyrics to “Sweet Child O’ Mine” but I think it’s pretty close. http://www.thequoteblog.com/page/1

wikiHow — Have you ever wanted to learn how to make a yarn doll or how to make furniture polish using olive oil? Now you can! This site has step-by-step instructions on how to do pretty much anything. http://www.wikihow.com/Main-Page

Stair Fall — Take this stick figure and toss him down a flight of stairs. The point of the game is to see how MUCH damage you can do to him. It’s a little graphic, but remember it’s just a stick figure, so don’t go and try doing this to your little brother. http://www.vivalagames.com/play/stairfall/

Office Prank — Here's one prank that's sure to cure any case of the Mondays. Just be prepared to get fired. http://www.tgisfw.com/2007/07/possibly-best-office-prankever.html

Jeopardy Flub — HYSTERICAL! And I love Trebek's response. http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=6899

Poppers — Amuse yourself and relieve stress with these virtual poppers. http://www.danpat.fi/janne/flash/kuplamuovi.swf

End of the World — WARNING: This site contains explicit language, so watch at your own risk — or turn the volume down low enough so your boss won’t hear. It’s been around for a while, but it’s a classic — and it still manages to put a smile on my face each and every time, which is definitely needed on a Monday morning. A very funny flash animation about nukes and what would happen if the world started setting them off. http://www.endofworld.net/

I’m Into Nuggets — This hysterical YouTube video was picked up by McDonalds as their new ad campaign — pretty impressive for two guys with just a video camera and a catchy beat! But, I feel like it’s giving false hope to guys like this. I’m very curious about how much dough they'll be getting for it, but McDonald's (typically) won't let them "disclose" their earnings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSZ6k3QIsAk

Prezzle — A present that’s a puzzle is a PREZZLE! Send your friends e-gift certificates in the wrapping of your choice (mine would definitely be the flaming bag-o-poo.) Give them a hint, and let them shake it around … but they can’t open it until you let them! The only downfall is that they only offer certificates to Amazon and i-Tunes, so it’s kind of limited — but still a novel idea. http://www.prezzle.com/

Beerbot — It’s an interesting idea, but in the time it takes this robot to pour one glass of beer, I could have finished off at least one and have been moving on to my second. I’ll opt for pouring my own drink, but check out this video and see for yourself how it works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIs9H0WFus

Thursday, July 12, 2007

"The Hoff" — Fantastic actor, singing extraordinaire — is there anything this man can't do?! By far the best music video I've ever seen, that is as long as Webster's Dictionary changed the definition of best to freakish and mildly grotesque. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi2CfuqcUGE

Ongaku — Very reminiscent of Guitar Hero, and totally addictive. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/387592

Eat Babies — "Get in my BELLY!" And no, I'm not telling you that you should eat babies (but to each is own). I'm just saying that you've got to check out this HYSTERICAL satire of a site. Chock full o' recipes and flash animations this site's definitely taking Jonathan Swift's, "A Modest Proposal" to new heights. http://eatbabies.com/index.html

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

The Color Test — Here's a test that drove me completely nuts! Hope you have better luck with it. http://www.humorsphere.com/fun/colortest.swf

Rodney & Zak — After seeing "Men In Black" and "Men In Black II" I never thought I'd laugh at a talking dog again ... it really killed the novelty for me. But this video short is absolutely hysterical! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJTMAgotYXo

Fireworks — The weather here was pretty crappy this year for July 4th and it completely ruined all of my plans to see some decent fireworks. Now I don’t have to wait 365 days for my next chance! With a click of the mouse, I’ve got my own personal firework display — any day of the year. http://www.joeandsara.com/july4th/

One Sentence — Have you ever gotten frustrated when a friend is telling a story and they just keep going and going and going? Yeah, it can get annoying. Here's a site that's has real life stories re-told in only one sentence. I think it fulfills any voyeuristic tendencies you may have. http://www.onesentence.org/

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

Scuba — Awesome underwater pictures from around the world. http://www.abelic.net/

The Real Simpson’s — Now I don’t know who’s responsible for this one, but here’s a few pics of what the Simpson’s house would look like in “real” life. http://www.funny-potato.com/simpsons-house-film.html

Monday, July 9, 2007

Bunny Suicides — If a bunny were to kill himself, this is how it would be done, but why a bunny would want to die I have absolutely no idea. http://www.retrocomputing.net/racconti/umor/coniglio/pandora.beptuui.html

Icicle Climb — Here’s the deal, you’re the yeti and all you’ve got to do is help poor pengu climb the wall by throwing icicles. You’ve only got 12 tries so make them count and spread them out wisely. http://www.sageth.com/index.php?option=com_dcs_flashgames&Itemid=132&task=view&catid=6&id=98

Suggested by Don From Richmond, VA:

Grave Hunter — So it’s a little morbid, but VERY fascinating. Check out gravesites of dead Hollywood legends like Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart, Sammy Davis Jr., and Sharon Tate. http://www.gravehunter.net/

Friday, July 6, 2007

Coder or Cannibal — Test your serial killer knowledge with this quiz and see if you can tell who's a computer programmer and who's a mass murderer. http://www.mattround.freeserve.co.uk/files/killerquiz.swf

Break Dancing — Break Dancing -- These two break-dancers have incredible skills! http://www.influks.com/post1368.html

Suggested by Amii from New Jersey

I Like Turtles — That he does! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y

Thursday, July 5, 2007

Hope everyone had the day off and enjoyed July 4th. There's nothing better than skipping Hump Day!

Suggested by Bob from New Jersey:

Lord of the Rings Remix — A scene from "The Lord of the Rings" dubbed with someone else's voice. Very funny, but a little creepy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QAlt4Sfl7Q

Bite Sized Creatures — Just what you need after a nice holiday break are the tiniest creatures ever! They're so cute. http://www.zuzafun.com/finger-size-creatures

The Gashlycrumb Tinies — Learn the alphabet in a slightly different way. "A is for Amy, who fell down the stairs; B is for Basil assaulted by bear." So it's a little sadistic, but the illustrations are fantastic. http://comunidad.ciudad.com.ar/argentina/capital_federal/visualmix/vonzai/gorey.html

Tuesday, July 3, 2007

Cyber Parodies — A one-stop shop for audio parodies. Check out “Beverly Hills” — it's definitely my favorite. http://www.cyberparodies.com/

Improv Everywhere — HYSTERICAL! This comedy troop stages a suicide jump — the best part is where he's jumping from! http://www.improveverywhere.com/2005/12/10/suicide-jumper/

A.K.A Snoop Doggy Dog — Or Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. as his birth certificate likes to say. Check out this site and get a detailed list of celebrities' real names. http://www.famousfolk.com/

Monday, July 2, 2007

Impossible Quiz — Here's one to make you go insane on a Monday morning. The name says it all — this quiz is down right impossible. I tried playing it over 50 times and I could only get up to number 41 (and that's after figuring out some of the answers by trial and error.) Let me know how far you get, and here's a hint — not all the answers are what you expect them to be. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/365143

Does This Look Stupid? — Probably, especially if your posting pics of outfits online and asking people to rate them in a "hot or not" kind of way. I still it's amusing to see what people think is stylish (and I stress THINK.) http://doesthislookstupid.com/
