Jerry O'Connell is apologizing to his wife Rebecca Romijn — who is pregnant with twin girls — for joking about her size when he appeared on a late-night talk show Friday.
"I regret calling my wife 'huge' on Conan O'Brien," O'Connell tells People magazine. "I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologize to her and will be coming home with flowers."
O'Connell, 34, and Romijn, 36, who will appear on "Ugly Betty" again this fall, expect their daughters this winter. The babies will be the first children for the pair.
Romijn and O'Connell met at a party in 2004; he proposed a year later. They got married in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles in July 2007.
O'Connell stars in the new Fox sitcom "Do Not Disturb."
