Actor Jeffrey Jones, who played the dean in the 1980s comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off, pleaded innocent to charges he possessed child pornography and hired a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photos.

Jones, who entered his plea Wednesday, is expected to be back in court on Feb. 3, when a preliminary hearing date is scheduled to be set.

The 56-year-old actor, who also appeared in the films Beetlejuice and Sleepy Hollow, has previously said he wants "the truth to come out" about the criminal charges.

"From the beginning, I have cooperated with the police department and the district attorney's office," he said Nov. 21 after his first court appearance.

Jones remains free on $20,000 bond. If convicted, he would face up to three years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender.

He was arrested Nov. 14 after a 12-month investigation that also resulted in the arrest of actor Paul Reubens, 50, who is best known as the character Pee-wee Herman.

Reubens, who is free on $20,000 bail, could face up to a year in county jail and a $2,500 fine if convicted. Reubens' lawyer has said the actor did not knowingly possess anything illegal.
