Jane Fonda (search) will undergo hip replacement surgery after finishing publicity tours for her upcoming film and autobiography, her publicist said Thursday.

No date has been set for the procedure, said publicist Pat Kingsley, adding that Fonda had outpatient treatment Thursday for her knee.

"She's back at home, and she's doing fine," Kingsley said.

The 67-year-old actress, fitness guru and political activist stars with Jennifer Lopez in "Monster-in-Law" (search), to be released in May. Fonda plays a woman who disapproves of her new daughter-in-law.

"Monster-in-Law" is Fonda's first movie since "Stanley & Iris" in 1990. She left acting after marrying her now ex-husband, media mogul Ted Turner.

She has won two Oscars, for "Coming Home" and "Klute." Her screen credits also include "Julia," "The China Syndrome" and "On Golden Pond."

Her autobiography, "My Life So Far" (search), published by Random House, is set for release next month.
