The Israeli army canceled a ceremony Sunday to mark the handover of the Gaza Strip (search) to Palestinian control after the Palestinians boycotted the event. But Israeli officials said the spat would not affect plans to complete the withdrawal on Monday.

The Palestinians (search) decided not to attend the military ceremony because of unresolved disputes, in particular a disagreement over control of a vital crossing along the Egypt-Gaza border.

Key information about empty Jewish settlements (search) was meant to be turned over at Sunday's ceremony and it was not immediately clear how the information would now be transferred to the Palestinian authorities.
